The Happiest Place on Earth Just Got Happier

The Disney California Adventure park expansion culminated this week with a rededication ceremony hosted by The Walt Disney Company CEO, Bob Iger. The ceremony celebrated the more than 20 new attractions, shows and experiences added to Disney California Adventure park over the last five years.

With the addition of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street, guests will enjoy a full-day experience at Disney California Adventure park, including nighttime entertainment experiences like “Mad T Party,” a family dance party inspired by Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” and the water spectacular “World of Color.” With myriad new additions, the Disneyland Resort will continue to drive tourism to Southern California for years to come.

“From the thrills of Cars Land to the romance of Buena Vista Street, the work that’s been done throughout this entire expansion is extraordinary,” said Tom Staggs, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. “Disney California Adventure park is a testament to what we at Disney Parks do best – connecting our guests to the iconic stories, characters and music they love, helping them make shared memories to last a lifetime.”

The event, which underscores Disney’s commitment to diversity, provided guests the opportunity to learn more about deaf culture through performances, workshops, screenings and celebrity presentations. Appearances by the stars of ABC Family’s hit series “Switched at Birth” rounded out the weekend, which drew thousands to experience the talent of both deaf and hearing artists alike.
